The New Zealand Temple

We traveled from Auckland to Hamilton where we were able to see the Christmas lights at the Temple. On Monday we went to the Temple to attend to some work. This temple is surrounded by fields and the area is called Temple View. There are many members living here and the MTC. There is a Chruch College, but it is closing. The members are very sad about it closing, but it is too costly to maintain and the public schools are getting better so there is not the need for them at this time.

Auckland

Arrived and hit the ground running. We couldn't check into the hotel so we took a tour of Auckland and enjoyed our first adventure on The America's Cup Sailing cruise of the harbor. It was a fine day for sailing with fair winds and cool dry weather.

The Christmas tree in at the Sky City Hotel where we stayed. The Hotel lobby was like a 5 star and the room was a 2 star. It was very crowded, but just fine and we were very tired and didn't care anyway.

We walked to the harbor, tried our first NZ fish and chips and missed church, because of the confusion of the on-line posted Church times and the actual Church times. We arrived as the last meeting was finishing up. Sunday night we made it to Temple Hill and saw the Christmas lights at the New Zealand Temple. Most of the people who live in Temple Hill are members of the Church. We stayed in Hamilton the third night.
